a celebratory cup and a tombstone- two of the most contrasting images you could find in the wizarding world. one represents power, glory, victory, excitement, and joy. the other is a symbol for loss, pain, defeat, suffering, and sorrow. and yet, in these uncertain times, in the center of the wizarding world, there are both.
harry potter is dead.
the twenty-fifth anniversary of voldemort's defeat was supposed to be a wonderful time for the wizarding community. a house tournament, much like a triwizard tournament, was set to be held at hogwart's school of witchcraft and wizardry to mark the anniversary. harry potter himself was to begin the tournament with a speech, likely a glorious one that would urge students to reach for new heights, aim for the horizons, and all of that uplifting jabber that one might expect from the hero of the second wizarding war. but, that image came crashing down around everyone on august thirteenth, less than a month before his two youngest children were to go to hogwarts for their fifth and seventh years at the school. harry potter, beloved husband, father, friend, and hero to all, was found dead in an alley like a piece of trash.
amidst much controversy and panic, hogwart's has since announced its intentions to continue with the house tournament as planned. the hope is that this event will uplift spirits, and distract many witches and wizards from the mysterious attacks throughout europe that have sent many to st. mungo's, stirring rumors of new dark wizards rising to power. the tournament, open to fifth through seventh years, provides an opportunity for this generation's youth to rise to glory, as so many hopeful students wish to do.
so how will you tie in to these events? are you one of the mysterious bad guys, or one who tries to reign them in? are you a student, reaching for glory in the house tournament, waiting to put your name forth, or one of the professors who guides them? come find out at the edge of glory.
